Restoration of RIA BUCKLES / 110 years old
In this video, I restore the Original buckles of the lower ranks of the Russion Imperial Army (RIA), that have lain underground for more than 100 years. RIA buckles were found at the sites of fierce battles of the First World War, where the earth burned and blood flowed. Therefore, the condition of most of the buckles was very poor. I just tried to bring them into a better condition. How it turned out is up to you, my dear viewers, to judge. My job was to clean these items, straighten them, create a faux patina and age it so these items looked intact but antique. In 1907, a badge with the image of an eagle was assigned to all army units of the War Department. The plaque was made of yellow copper (brass) and had dimensions of 5.3x8.3 cm. It was attached to the right side and had an iron pin on the bracket. Such badges were received by the lower ranks of army infantry units, convoy commands and all units and institutions of the military department that had the image of an eagle on copper buttons. I hope you enjoyed my restoration of buckles of the lower ranks of the Russion Imperial Army.
