Will you take vengeance on me? If you take vengeance on me, I will swiftly turn your vengeance back upon your own heads. 5 For you have taken my silver and gold and carried my precious treasures to your temples. 6 And you have sold the children of Judah and the children of Jerusalem to the Greeks, causing them to depart far from their territory. 7 Behold, I will raise them up from the place where you sold them and brought them to, and I will turn upon your own heads what you have done. 8 Your children will be sold into the hands of the children of Judah, and they will be sold again to the people of Sheba, a distant land; thus says the LORD. 9 Thus proclaim to all nations: Prepare for war, encourage the mighty warriors, and bring all the soldiers near and up. 10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears; and let the weak say, “I am strong.” 11 Come quickly, you nations surrounding us! Gather, O Lord, let Your warriors come down there. 12 Let the nations rise up, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit and judge all the surrounding nations. 13 Put up the sickle, for the harvest is ripe; come, tread it out! The winepress is full, and the vats overflow, for their wickedness is great. The Lord blesses the people. 14 Many are the people in the Valley of Judgment; the day of the Lord is near in the Valley of Judgment. 15 The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their light. 16 The Lord will cry out from Zion, and give voice from Jerusalem; the heavens and the earth will tremble. But the Lord will be a refuge for His people, a fortress for the children of Israel. 17 Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God who dwells on my holy mountain Zion. Jerusalem shall be holy, and no foreigner shall pass through it anymore. 18 On that day The mountains will drop sweet wine, and the hills will flow milk; all the streams of Judah will flow water, and a spring will flow from the temple of the LORD to water the Valley of Shittim. 19 But Egypt will become a wasteland, and Edom a desolate wilderness, because they committed violence against the children of Judah and shed innocent blood in that land. 20 Judah will endure forever, and Jerusalem will endure from generation to generation. 21 I did not 1) avenge their bloodshed, but now I 1) avenge them, for the LORD dwells in Zion.
