Dschungel-Leben in Nepal: So wohnen wir wirklich
Near Pokhara in Nepal lies the village of Barang, home to members of the Gurung people. In this video, I'll show you glimpses into the lives of the Gurung—or Tamu, as they call themselves. Barang is a traditional village about 15 km from Pokhara. It sits on a ridge and offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna massif and Machapuchare. Typical of Gurung villages are the stone houses with slate roofs, the neatly paved paths, and the terraced fields. For visitors, the residents offer community homestays, where guests can stay with local families and participate in daily life. The Gurung (Tamu) are among the most well-known ethnic groups in Nepal. They are especially known for their bravery and warm hospitality. The ancestors of the Gurung migrated from Tibet centuries ago. Their beliefs are a blend of Buddhism, Hinduism, and animistic traditions. The men often wear a vest (bhoto) and a wrap-around skirt (kachhad). Women wear colorful clothing and gold jewelry, such as a nose ring (phuli). In the village center, called the rodhi, young people gather to sing, dance, and chat. The traditional honey hunt is practiced by Gurung communities in the region around Barang and Lamjung. Honey hunters climb steep cliff faces using rope ladders to harvest the honey of wild giant honeybees. Many of the legendary Gurkhas in the British and Indian armies come from the Gurung people. ... 📸 Follow me on Instagram for more impressions: / phuongreisetagebuch And on Facebook: / phuongreisetagebuch If you'd like to support me, the best way is here: 👉 PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/phuon... ☕️ Buy Me a Coffee (10% fee): https://buymeacoffee.com/phuongreiset... 🎉 Directly via YouTube Super Like/Sticker (30% fee) 🎉 Become a channel member: / @phuongreisetagebuch ✍️ You can find my teacher's language courses on her website: https://silkestoffel.de If you book through my Instagram account or email, you'll receive a 10% discount. 🌟 Did you enjoy the video?
