Afternoon in Paris - Guitar Lesson

A great jazz tune, "Afternoon in Paris" This lesson will be looking at 3 important areas you need to know for any jazz standard. 1) The Comping (Chords) - I wrote out some voicings for the first "A" section and the Bridge with simple rhythms, leaving you an opportunity to come up with some of your own comping rhythms, and voicings for the other "A" sections. 2) The Head (Melody) - The Rhythm in the "A" section can be a little tricky, so make sure to listen to it several times, the Bridge lays well with octaves. 3) The Solo - The 1st 'A' section and the bridge are written out, watch the video for a more in-depth explanation of the arpeggios, scales, and other tools used in coming-up with the solo, the other 'A' sections are improvised and a great place to try out your own ideas.
