Will They Accept The New Queens? | First Queen Introduction
In today’s beekeeping video, we finally introduce the new queens into the colonies after making our first hive splits. One hive has been extremely calm, while the other has been hot and aggressive, so I was definitely nervous going into this queen introduction. I’m still brand new to beekeeping, so a lot of this process is learning as I go and trying to read what the bees are telling me. In this episode: 🐝 Installing the new queens 🐝 Checking colony behavior 🐝 Looking for signs of queen acceptance 🐝 Learning through mistakes and experience If you’ve got advice, tips, or think I made the wrong call with one or both queens, let me know down in the comments. I’m learning right alongside you guys. Thanks for following the journey here at Z’s Bees at Golden Grove Ranch in beautiful Calaveras County, California. #beekeeping #honeybees #bees #beehive #beekeeper #queenbee #apiary #beekeepingforbeginners
