THE LEARNING PURPOSE IN THE LEARNING UNIT The learning purpose establishes the pedagogical intention that the teacher sets forth in the unit planning. The purpose is the heart of the unit and establishes what we want to achieve in the teaching and learning process for the students. The difficulty arises when, in some cases, we only present the competencies and skills, stating that the competency itself expresses the learning purpose. This situation leads us to propose the purpose generically and without establishing the level of complexity we want to achieve. Therefore, it is important that, along with the competencies and skills, we present the evaluation criteria, since the evaluation criteria will allow us to establish the level of complexity we want to achieve in the development of the competency.
