In today's video, I'll show you what the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) tour in Cusco is like, one of the most impressive places in Peru 🇵🇪 I did this tour in partnership with the company Peru Andean Hop, which picked us up by van directly from the hostel at 5 am. After about 2 hours on the road, we stopped at a restaurant in the mountains for breakfast, which was already included in the tour price. The food was simply incredible and gave us the energy needed to tackle the climb. The tour also includes a guide throughout the entire route, with explanations in Spanish and English, answering questions and sharing interesting facts about the region, the local culture, and Rainbow Mountain itself. We arrived around 9 am at the parking lot where we started the hike. The climb was quite difficult, mainly because of the extreme altitude, as we were about 4,500 meters above sea level. I confess it was tiring, but totally rewarding. After reaching the main summit, taking photos, interacting with the llamas, and enjoying the surreal view, there was still one more challenge: climbing to an even higher point, surpassing 5,000 meters in altitude. The view of the glaciers and mountains was one of the most exciting things about the entire trip. The descent was much easier, and the excitement took over when, on the way back, it started to snow. It was an unexpected and simply unforgettable experience. On the return, we stopped again at the same restaurant, where lunch was also included in the tour. I tried the lomo saltado, which was very good and perfectly capped off the day.
