Exploring Prescott AZ: Billy Jack, Whiskey Row, Doc Holliday & The Old West

Come with me on a trip to Prescott, Arizona; a town where Old West history is alive and well. I started my day at Courthouse Plaza, where scenes from the 1971 cult classic Billy Jack were filmed. From there, I stopped by the plaque marking where Doc Holliday once lived, walked down Whiskey Row, and explored iconic spots like Matt’s Saloon, and Jersey Lilly Saloon. The highlight? Stepping inside the legendary Palace Saloon, Arizona’s oldest frontier saloon. Built in 1877, it has seen it all: cowboys, outlaws, brothels, an opium den, and even a massive fire in 1900. (The patrons famously carried the bar outside and kept drinking as the other side of the street burned!) I even raised a glass of Old Overholt rye whiskey, Doc Holliday’s whiskey of choice, to toast the history around me. 🥃 📍 In this video you’ll see: 🎬 Billy Jack filming locations 📜 Doc Holliday’s historic plaque 🤠 Whiskey Row & St. Michael’s Hotel 🎶 Matt’s Saloon & Jersey Lilly Saloon 🥃 The Palace Saloon and a taste of Old Overholt 👉 If you love Old West history, movie locations, and legendary saloons, this trip to Prescott has it all.
