Golpistas se passam por pedreiros e oferecem serviços para idosos com cobranças abusivas

Fake construction workers have been scamming mainly elderly people by offering repair services that result in exorbitant charges. In a recent case, an elderly woman was approached under the pretext of loose roof tiles and a hole in her roof. After performing the supposed service, the scammers demanded R$ 8,000. The victim managed to negotiate down to R$ 7,200 and transferred R$ 5,000 immediately. This scheme is not isolated; in São Caetano do Sul, in the ABC Paulista region, a gang used similar tactics to deceive local residents. The criminals arrive by car and park in front of the targets' houses. Claiming problems such as bird nests in the roofs, they obtain permission to enter the residences and perform minor repairs before demanding high payments for the services rendered.
