Una CASA con ALMA: arte, madera antigua y piezas únicas

Today's Casa+ is one of those that leaves you speechless. We're in Trancoso, visiting Paula's house, a project built from unexpected finds, antique pieces, and a delightful mix of Brazilian influences. The story begins at the entrance, with an old door found almost by chance in an antique shop that ended up changing everything: the house was literally redesigned so that the door could exist there. During the tour, Paula opens her heart and explains how every corner of the house has intention, memory, and personality. Old ironwork reappears as a common thread throughout the house, reclaimed wood is transformed into structure, small details become protagonists, and the living room's "altar" brings together symbols, affections, and a sense of protection. There's an enormous custom-made sofa, a gigantic table that waited years to arrive at the house, bathrooms with benches inspired by carpenter's workbenches, wood art painted by local artists, and a very clear central idea: to always live on the terrace, under a glass roof, with the breeze, the moon, and even the rain entering when it feels right. To close the tour, we spoke with Murilo, from Casarão Pedro Baiano, who helped curate many of the pieces for the project. It was two and a half years of searching, traveling, and discovering the interior of Brazil, with a special focus on the Northeast and the Chapada Diamantina, gathering unique objects full of history.
