[Anchor] The fire at the Coupang logistics center in Incheon, which started on the morning of the 18th, is still not under control. With an evacuation order issued due to the possibility of some structures collapsing, fire authorities are continuing firefighting efforts. Reporter Jeong Ho-jin reports. [Reporter] The fire that started around 7 a.m. on the 18th at the Coupang logistics center in Seoknam-dong, Seohae-gu, Incheon, is still ongoing. Initially, fire authorities predicted that the main flames would be brought under control around 11 p.m. on the 19th. However, firefighting operations are being delayed because the building's internal passageways are only 1.3 meters wide and there is a large amount of flammable material. With the fire not being brought under control and the possibility of partial structural collapse raised, Seohae-gu, Incheon, issued an evacuation order for residents within a 116-meter radius of the logistics center's ramp area. The evacuation order did not include densely populated residential areas, but rather included small and medium-sized manufacturing companies and commercial buildings. The Seohae-gu district office stated, "We determined that it was necessary to take proactive preemptive measures to protect lives and safety." As firefighters and police officers currently engaged in firefighting operations at the scene have been exempted from evacuation orders, firefighting efforts are expected to continue. The fire authorities previously issued a "National Fire Mobilization Order" and deployed 228 pieces of equipment along with over 700 police and fire personnel. They poured all their efforts into the firefighting operation, including using excavators to demolish the area to clear smoke and securing space to spray firefighting water. The fire authorities reported, "We are focusing on preventing the spread of combustion by deploying additional articulated fire trucks to areas with intense fires." Meanwhile, as the fire has become prolonged, Incheon's Seohae-gu district recommended the temporary closure of 31 daycare centers near the site and decided to suspend classes at nearby elementary schools as well.
