The Hagen-Vorhalle station is a passenger and marshalling yard in the Vorhalle district of Hagen. The station is located on the railway line between Dortmund and Hagen and was opened in 1849 as Herdecke station. The station has had its current name since the 1950s. At the time of opening, the station had two central platforms, of which only the northern one still exists today. The marshalling yard has existed in its current form since 1910. The marshalling yard has eleven entry tracks, two mountain tracks and 40 direction tracks with a usable length of up to 920m. The marshalling yard was modernized from 2004 to 2006 and equipped for fully automatic operation.
