How to install an LS crankshaft
The video shows the process of installing a crankshaft in an engine block. The presenter emphasizes the importance of thoroughly cleaning the crankshaft before installation due to potential debris from balancing. The crankshaft is lubricated and gently placed into the block, with ARP studs used for secure attachment. The presenter demonstrates the torqueing process for the studs and adjusting the thrust clearance. Side bolts are also installed with RTV silicone. After torquing all components to spec, a torque stripe is applied for a final check. The end play of the crankshaft is checked using a dial indicator, and the reluctor wheel runout is also measured. The presenter concludes by mentioning the next step of installing piston rings and Pistons.
