Giradischi Technics SL-QD22: Tarature, Calibrazioni Volt, Anti-Skating, Test Mode

Technics SL-QD22 Turntable: Calibrations, Antiskatting, Test Mode In this video we will look at all the calibrations and adjustments that can be made to the PCB voltage and voltage controls, which in turn control the arm system, cueing, as well as autostop and auto-return. We will follow the information provided in the Technics SL-QD22 Turntable Technical Manual. We will see that it is possible to adjust the voltages of 4 volts and 8 volts both with the tester and by adjusting the variable resistors. _______________________________________ Technics SL-QD22 Turntable Data Sheet: _______________________________________ Technics SLQD22 Semi Automatic Turntable (1986-1990) -General Manufacturer: Technics Model: SL-QD22 Years of manufacture: 1987 to 1993 (approx. data) Manufactured in: Osaka, Japan Color: Technics black Power consumption: 8 W Dimensions (WxHxD): 430 x 100 x 375 mm (with open lid: 430 x 100 x 410 mm) Weight: 4,5 kg -Connections Outputs: 2x RCA Cinch, 1x GND Grounding -Technical Data Drive: direct drive Drive control: Quartz control Motor: commutatorless DC motor Speed: 33-1/3 and 45 rpm Synchronous fluctuations: 0.012% (at the motor), or 0.025% total WRMS Rumble noise ratio: 56 dB DIN-A, 78 dB DIN-B Turntable: aluminium injection moulding, diameter 31.2 cm Operating mode: semi-automatic (automatic return, automatic stop) Pitch: no Tonearm: statically balanced, straight tonearm. Impedance: 47 kOhm - 100 kOhm Replacement needle: EPS-30ES We will also adjust the height of the arm from the record when it is raised, in order to achieve optimum adjustment of the cueing function with the arm raised. Part of the video is also dedicated to checking and calibrating the anti-skating and tracking force. We explain what anti-skating and tracking force is. In this Technics SL-QD22 turntable, anti-skating is set at the factory, but we will see together how to adjust it regardless of the weight of the stylus attached. What will we see? Test mode 1 voltage adjustment 8 volts Test mode 2 voltage adjustment 4 volts Positioning and adjusting the arm height from the plate Calibration and adjustment of the antiskating according to the weight of the stylus and its tracking force. _______________________________________ CHAPTERS: 0:00 TEST OVERVIEW 0:22 ADJUSTING 8 VOLTS 2:53 ADJUSTING CURRENT TESTER 5:34 ADJUSTING 4 VOLTS 6:57 ADJUSTING ARM HEIGHT 8:16 WHAT IS TRACKING FORCE / ANTI-SKATING 10:36 CALIBRATING ANTI-SKATING 12:55 TESTING ANTI-SKATING 14:56 CHECKING WITH PLANE BUBBLE 16:18 GREETINGS AND CONSIDERATIONS
