Giradischi Technics SL-QD22: Smontaggio Riparazione (Parte 1)

Technics SL-QD22 Turntable: Disassembly Repair (PART 1) Let's take a look at how to disassemble the 1987 Technics SL-QD22 Turntable. We will find out what problems I have encountered by following the disassembly procedure to access the PCB control board and the motor that controls the cueing and stop (self return) of the arm. In particular, we will see which screws and the correct procedure to disassemble it, as well as its weak points. In particular, we will check the PCB and the gear mechanism which, together with the motor, control and allow us to automatically raise the arm on the vinyl record. We will then check the functioning of the auto-stop and automatic return, so that, once the record is finished, the stylus does not stay down and the platter continues to turn without stopping and without returning the arm to its initial rest position. What problems can I encounter with the Technics SLQD22? The cueing button and indicator light not lighting up properly and not allowing the arm to be raised and lowered properly; Problems with the cymbal stop; Problems with the auto-stop function and automatic arm return; Platter stop. _______________________________________ Various settings and calibration's test: anti-skating and auto return settings:    • Giradischi Technics SL-QD22: Tarature, Cal...   _______________________________________ Technics SL-QD22 Turntable Data Sheet: _______________________________________ Technics SLQD22 Semi Automatic Turntable (1986-1990) -General Manufacturer: Technics Model: SL-QD22 Years of manufacture: 1987 to 1993 (approx. data) Manufactured in: Osaka, Japan Colour: Technics black Power consumption: 8 W Dimensions (WxHxD): 430 x 100 x 375 mm (with open lid: 430 x 100 x 410 mm) Weight: 4.5 kg -Connections Outputs: 2x RCA Cinch, 1x GND Grounding -Technical Data Drive: direct drive Drive control: Quartz control Motor: commutatorless DC motor Speed: 33-1/3 and 45 rpm Synchronous fluctuations: 0.012% (at the motor), or 0.025% total WRMS Rumble noise ratio: 56 dB DIN-A, 78 dB DIN-B Turntable: aluminium injection moulding, diameter 31.2 cm Operating mode: semi-automatic (automatic return, automatic stop) Pitch: no Tonearm: statically balanced, straight tonearm.
