Part 5: the cross cutting technique in detail Part 6: progression to free sparring using the cross cutting technique After this series, you'll know how to fight with the military arming sword. ---- Learn how to fight with a military arming sword, medieval style. The techniques presented here are from Cassani's military manual, which describes a very practical and strong way of using the arming sword. The manual is from 1603, but the techniques are very old. Similar techniques can be found in for example the oldest sword fighting manuscript we have, the I.33. What sets Cassani apart is that he describes a sword style which is for military use, and different from the civilian techniques of the time. Cuts are preferred, thrusting is absent. The use of double swords, and a sword with shield, is also included. As usual, I have tested the style in sparring, and it really works well. I currently fight with this style most of the time. But don't take my word for it, try it yourself! If you missed the first video in the series, check it out here: • Learn medieval military sword in 20 minute...
