Go Up and Take Possession | Deuteronomy 1:19-33 19 When we left Mount Horeb, as the LORD our God had commanded us, and passed through the great and dreadful wilderness that you saw, and came to Kadesh-Barnea by the way of the hill country of the Amorites, 20 I said to you, “You have come to the hill country of the Amorites that the LORD our God has given us. 21 The LORD your God has set this land before you; go up and take possession of it, as the LORD your God, the God of your ancestors, said to you. Do not be afraid, do not hesitate.” 22 Then all of you came forward and said, “Let us send men ahead of us to spy out the land for us and to tell us which way we must go up and which cities we must enter.” 23 I approved of this suggestion, and I chose twelve men, one from each of your tribes. 24 They turned and went up into the hill country and came to the Valley of Eshkol, and spyed out the place. 25 Then they returned to us with the fruit of the land in their hands and said to us, “The land that the LORD our God is giving us is good.” ...did so. 26 But you did not want to go up, and you disobeyed the command of the LORD your God. 27 You grumbled in your tents, saying, “The LORD brought us out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hands of the Amorites to destroy us, for he hates us. 28 Where shall we go?
