Union Pacific 844 Freight Train
History was made today as The mighty northern 4-8-4 UP 844 returned to the mainline back in action less than 48 hours after the terrible tragedy at Henderson. Hauling some revenue freight from Denver to Cheyenne on July 23, 2018. After waiting 2 1/2 hours (since about 1pm just north of Ft. Lupton on a very good rumor that this might possibly occur I see the light northbound at 230 the elusive Union Pacific no. 844 single light appeared on the horizon along with the rain at 330 or so. Ride along with me shotgun as we shadow this rare sight.
