Last Woman Standing
It was previously a man's field, but more Papua New Guinean women are now joining the ranks as military personnel. One of these women is Doreen Yakuc, who was commissioned to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the PNGDF on Friday, when she passed out of the Joint Forces Academy. For 2nd lieutenant Yakuc, joining the army was a childhood dream that came true with a lot of hard work. She was also the only woman to graduate in her class of 36 cadets.
