Five Smooth Stones (David and Goliath story)

David and Goliath--the quintessential Bible story that has captured the hearts of children and adults alike! Children especially seem to love this story. But do we remember God can help us conquer the "giants" we may be facing today? I know I sometimes forget! Let's face it: sometimes the story of David taking down Goliath with God's help seems like a fairy tale. We treat it like that, anyway. Sometimes we think, "Well, life's too complicated. I can't do anything like that in this contemporary age." We might not. But God can! (Bible reference 1 Samuel 17) Lyrics: [Verse 1] Each man shook with fear when the giant stepped out no man showed courage when he began to shout David stepped up first small frame, steady voice They laughed at this young man but he firmly made his choice He said, "I won't don their armor, I won't wear their fear." He bowed his head and prayed He knew God was near.
