🇺🇸 What is America like on Independence Day? This 4th of July, I decided to skip the crowded fireworks and instead explore the historic side of Winston-Salem, North Carolina on my bicycle. From riding through surprisingly empty streets to visiting the iconic Shell-shaped gas station, Old Salem Museum & Gardens, centuries-old historic homes, and discovering a beautiful new running route at Reynolda Village, this ride turned into an unexpected adventure. Despite almost everything being closed for the holiday, I experienced the patriotic atmosphere, colonial celebrations, historic architecture, and peaceful cycling routes that made this Independence Day truly memorable.
