Today, I walked along the Sojiji-dori shopping arcade with Miyashita Anri, the manager of the Wajima City Kushihinosho Zen Village Community Center in Monzen-cho, Wajima City. 18 years have passed since the 2007 Noto Peninsula earthquake, and Miyashita and her fellow shopkeepers are working hard to create a place where people can gather and rebuild the town after the second major earthquake.
