The Best Comfort Food I’ve Ever Had At Nadine’s In Pittsburgh | United States of Plates

I hit the South Side of Pittsburgh to visit Nadine’s — a family-run, no-menu, no-recipe neighborhood bar pumping out fried bologna sandwiches, biscuits & gravy, and the kind of comfort food that fixes hangovers and bad moods. It’s packed with regulars, everything’s cooked from the heart, and it honestly feels like you’re eating in someone’s home. They were featured on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives back in the day — but the regulars will tell you this place didn’t need TV to be a classic. I hopped behind the grill, to help Matt (Owner) cook up the breakfast rush, got heckled by the regulars, had a blast while doing it, and yeah, I’m calling it one of my favorite bar I’ve ever been to.
