“Waves” a short film about the qualities needed to be a lifeguard. S3’s short film tells the story of a class that wanted to learn what it really takes to become a lifeguard — and to have fun doing it. Produced by the Catcote Academy 6th Form class S3 for the annual Tees Valley Combined Authority Careers Week inter school competition, the video blends humour with genuine curiosity about the qualities behind the role. The students chose a light hearted style, building their film around the “inspirational moment” that sparked the decision to pursue lifeguarding, followed by a playful take on the interview process. Their creativity, teamwork, and comic timing shone through, earning S3 first place in the competition.
