Moroto Residents Seek Funding to Publish Dictionary to Preserve Local Language
The So community in Moroto District is calling on government to fund the publication of the long-awaited So language dictionary, aimed at helping the younger generation learn to speak and write their mother tongue. The appeal comes amid growing concerns that many Tepeth people have increasingly adopted Ngakarimojong due to cultural assimilation. The initiative to compile the dictionary was led by Makerere University’s School of Languages.
