1 Resume Rule That Makes Recruiters Remember You
One resume rule separates candidates who get callbacks from candidates who get ignored. And most people in gaming are breaking it on every single bullet point. Recruiters spend about 7 to 10 seconds on your resume. In that window they're scanning for one thing: proof that you've actually done the work. Vague language like "managed multiple projects," "coordinated cross-functional teams," "drove results" doesn't prove anything. It sounds like a job description, not a person. And when your bullets could be copy-pasted onto anyone else's resume, the recruiter's scarce attention is wasted. In this video I break down why specificity is the single most important quality in a resume bullet, and why it matters more than you think. I walk through the specificity spectrum from vague ("many") to credible ("19" which is more convincing than "about 20," and I'll show you why). I cover what to do when your role doesn't produce obvious numbers (concept artists, managers, marketers, designers) because specificity isn't always about quantities. And I give you the simplest bullet structure that works: achieved X by action Y, front-loaded so the achievement hits first even if the recruiter stops reading mid-sentence.
