To celebrate Ultraman’s 40th anniversary, Tsuburaya made the decision to return the franchise to the universe the Showa era shows had been featured in. Part of this stemmed from the company being on the verge of bankruptcy, wanting to pull in as many viewers new and old as possible. Adding to that, they wanted Ultraman Mebius to act like a series finale to the franchise if the company should happen to fall apart. Is Ultraman Mebius an anniversary series worth remembering?
