Springlettes in Action: Tikoy Spring Roll Day

Sweet surprises rolled out from our Springlettes! This video highlights all our Springlettes in action, confidently and independently working on their Practical Life skills, each one guided according to their readiness, with truly no child left behind. At SMS, we nurture independence step by step so every learner feels supported, included, and empowered. Our Casa and Lower Grade School Springlettes happily prepared a special Cheese and Banana Tikoy Spring Roll in celebration of Chinese New Year with our Chinese friends and our SMS family. More than a festive activity, this is part of our regular Montessori Practical Life work at Springhill Montessori School. Hands-on food preparation helps children build independence, coordination, focus, and real-world confidence. From preparation to rolling and cooking, each child participated according to readiness. Some were very brave, some showed excellent kiddie knife and tong grips, while others were still building confidence around frying in hot oil, all beautifully part of the Montessori journey. What mattered most was the joy and ownership each Springlettes showed.
