This Cast On Will BREAK Your Brain | Moebius Knitting

Ever tried to knit a Möbius strip by twisting your work before joining in the round… and ended up with something completely unworkable? Yeah. Same. In this video, I’m showing you the real way to knit a true Möbius strip using the brilliant cast-on developed by Cat Bordhi. This technique starts from the center of the fabric (yes, really), which means your knitting grows in two directions at once—and that’s where the magic happens. We’ll walk through: • what a Möbius strip actually is (and why the “twist and join” method doesn’t work) • how the Möbius cast-on is constructed on a circular needle • what’s really happening in those first few confusing rounds • and how this structure creates a single continuous surface in your knitting I’ll also show you a few finished projects, including felted baskets from A Second Treasury of Magical Knitting, so you can see how this technique translates into real, usable (and very cool) pieces.
