Making Handmade Paper in my July Garden #37

July has settled gently over the garden, and before the family arrive to spend time here, I thought it was time for a little tidy up. In this month’s garden video, I’ll show you how everything is growing, what’s catching my eye, and then we’ll spend some time trying something I’ve wanted to do for ages… making handmade paper from flowers gathered in the garden. We’ll press petals and leaves, make paper pulp, pull the sheets, and patiently wait for them to dry. It was a much longer process than I imagined, but also wonderfully absorbing—one of those crafts that encourages you to slow down and simply enjoy making. The paper making course I attended was run by https://www.oldmillarts.com and you can see a little more of my visit there in my Patreon Diary on the last Wednesday of July   / thelasthomelyhouse   Right at the end, you’ll catch a tiny glimpse of my granddaughter Agnes having a go too, which felt like the perfect ending to a lovely summer project. So make yourself a cup of tea, settle into a comfortable chair, and come and spend a quiet July afternoon in the garden with me. Thank you, as always, for your company and encouragement.
