Three robots, en route from Ganymede to Jupiter and specifically constructed to withstand its atmosphere, prepare to study and find mutual accord with the aliens already making use of the planet. Originally published in the August 1942 issue of Super Science Stories magazine, which had a Canadian reprint three months later, and which also reprinted it for their January 1951 issue as well as September 1952. Anthology appearances include Invasion from Mars: Interplanetary Stories selected by Orson Welles in 1949, Looking Forward in 1953, Out of This World 8 in 1970, The Days After Tomorrow in 1971, and Jupiter in 1973. Appearances in collections of the author's work include Eight Stories from the Rest of the Robots in 1966, The Rest of the Robots in 1967, and The Complete Robot in 1982, which comprised all his robot-related short stories to date.
