The central theme of the performance is the possibilities contained in the Svalbard Global Seed Bank. 'Frozen Songs' premiered to glowing reviews on 8th September 2017 at the Arctic Theatre (Hålogaland Teater) in Tromsø. It was later performed in Oslo, Hammerfest and Kungsbacka, and in 2018/19 performances are scheduled for Svalbard, Belgrade, Bruges, Wolfsburg, Paris and China. In Henry Purcell's opera, the 'Cold Song' is sung by the Cold Genius, or the Spirit of Winter, who is very annoyed with being woken up at the wrong time of year...
