A World This Empty - Bloodborne Inspired Dark Orchestral
SHADOW IN THE BARN - BLOODBORNE INSPIRED DARK ORCHESTRAL FOR WRITING & DEEP FOCUS "Just a Shadow in the Barn" is a 7-track Bloodborne inspired dark orchestral album following a hunter who follows a shadow into a cursed barn under a blood moon — not because the shadow is his prey, but because it moved, and in a dead world anything that moves might be a person. He is not looking for anyone in particular. He gave up that specific a hope a long way back. What he is looking for now is simpler and somehow worse: anyone. A single living person. One voice that answers when he speaks. He would take a stranger. He has lowered the requirement all the way down to the floor — alive will do — and still the world keeps coming up short. But something moved in the barn. He does not need much; in a world this empty, the smallest motion is enough to turn a man and bring him walking, because the alternative is to assume it was nothing, and he has decided, somewhere back along the road, that he will not be a man who assumes it was nothing. So he stops, and he looks, and he goes toward it. The barn is strung with old charms, skull-faced wards hung along the fence by people who believed, once, that you could keep a thing out if you hung the right shapes in its path; the people are gone and the charms remain, which tells you how well they worked. A wiser traveler would read the fence and turn around. He reads the fence and keeps walking, because the wards mean people, and people mean someone was here, and someone was here is the closest thing to hope this world still sells. He is not looking for anyone in particular — that is the part that would break you, if you watched him long enough — he is not crossing the world for a lost wife, a stolen child, a face he could name; he gave up that specific a hope a long way back. What he is looking for now is simpler and somehow worse: anyone, a single living person, one voice that answers when he speaks. He would take a stranger. He would take an enemy, if the enemy were warm and breathing and surprised to see him. He has lowered the requirement all the way down to the floor — alive will do — and still the world keeps coming up short. But something moved in the barn, and so for the length of this walk, this one, he gets to believe again. The shadow slipped through the doorway ahead of him — he saw it, he is sure he saw it — and a shadow is a thing cast by a body, and a body is a person, and tonight, walking up through the red grass with the moon enormous behind him, he lets himself follow that chain of reasoning all the way to its warm conclusion: someone is in the barn, someone alive, he is about to not be the only one anymore. He does not run; he has learned not to run, running is how you frighten the thing you are hoping toward, so he walks, steady, the way you approach a fire you are not sure is real, cupping the belief carefully so the wind of your own walking doesn't put it out. The doorway is dark ahead of him, and the moon watches the way it watches everything, which is to say without opinion, and whatever is in the barn is in the barn already and will be exactly what it is regardless of what he hopes. But he has not reached the doorway yet. And until he does, it could still be someone. Let him have the walk. AI TRANSPARENCY: Human-led creative project.
