Flying my plane OVER Mt Rushmore! (Surprise IFR)
Happy 250th America!! My friend Eric and I flew in my small plane, a Cirrus SR22T G6 from Utah to Mount Rushmore. We planned to land at Custer County Airport (KCUT) but ran into some weather, so we picked up a pop-up IFR clearance and diverted to Rapid City (KRAP). We ate buffalo burgers at Ruby House in Keystone, SD, visited Mount Rushmore, visited the Crazy Horse Memorial, and then flew over it all on the way back home to Utah.
