In Oman, men wear a traditional dagger called “khanjar” as an accessory for ceremonial occasions. When inspected closely, the Omani blades differ from traditional daggers of other Arab countries. Valuable both culturally and objectively, these daggers are passed down through generations as a cultural heritage. We take a deep dive into the art and craftsmanship of khanjar in a workshop in Oman. Each piece being handmade and one of a kind, the silver embroidery and jewellery glitter on the sheath of every khanjar.
