Movie Star! Boughton to Doncaster and filming at Ollerton

An unusual invitation came from GBRf to go and witness the filming of an RSSB safety video. We went to the RIDC (Rail Innovation & Development Centre) at High Marnham - more specifically, a stretch of the test track at Ollerton. You can witness the making of the film and then you are in for a treat. We make the return journey in 69004 (which is resplendent in RIDC livery) all the way back over the “Dukeries Line”, northwards on the Robin Hood Line then up the South Yorkshire Joint Railway to Doncaster. I believe this to be a YouTube first and you get to see it. We were lucky enough to have Driver Assessor Simon Brown who having worked these lines during power station days, has nothing short of encyclopaedic knowledge which he shares with us. Consider yourselves privileged. This is a unique experience.
