Hotman Paris Hutapea appeared in public as the attorney for former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah. Febrie was named a suspect by the National Police in a corruption case involving PT Asabri, a subsidiary of PT Krakatau Steel, and coal for a coal-fired power plant (PLTU). In a press conference at the Jampidsus Building of the Attorney General's Office, Jakarta, Friday (July 17, 2026), Hotman defended his client, claiming that Febrie was President Prabowo Subianto's Jampidsus. "Imagine, someone the President prides himself on suddenly being criminalized, without even saying goodbye to the President," Hotman said. The renowned lawyer then stated that Febrie Adriansyah had worked for the Forest Area Control Task Force (Satgas PKH) and returned Rp 300 trillion in state assets. In fact, according to Hotman, Febrie also recovered Rp 130 trillion in state losses in one year. In total, the state funds saved by the former Jampidsus reached Rp 430 trillion.
