You can descend stairs on any bike, but if the bike isn't suitable, it will break quickly and you could fall. Ideally, you should start with at least a hardtail Freeride bike like mine. How do you descend stairs on an XC (Cross Country) bike? It's almost the same, but since the seat is always very high on an XC bike, your positioning will have to be behind it, practically over the rear wheel.
