Restoring a Wooden Kitchen Worktop | The Carpenter's Daughter
Here's how I repaired the butcher block wooden worktop in our narrowboat kitchen. We bought it earlier in the year and it had come away in a couple of joins, lots of water stains, black marks, and plenty of cup ring marks I had to fix. I'll show you my favourite method of scraping it all with a carbide scraper (or you could use a cabinet scraper after learning how to sharpen one). Then leave minimal time (and mess/noise) for sanding before sealing it. AND, optional methods, such as Bar Keeper's Friend if you're intimidated by tools. I also talk about why I'm not oiling a worktop and chose a varnish. THINGS I USED: *As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases made through links.
