AI tools are revolutionizing the world we live in. Some claim they will destroy millions of jobs, while others believe they will create millions more. There are ongoing debates about the ethical use of these tools. But can AI replace human intelligence? Susana Pérez questions whether AI (like ChatGPT) can truly match or surpass human intelligence. Human intelligence encompasses complex aspects such as creativity, empathy, and intuition, along with information processing capabilities. Although AI can outperform humans in specific tasks and processing large amounts of data, there are areas where humans excel. Her work focuses on enabling technologies for Industry 5.0: advanced sensors, computer vision, maintenance, and the application of AI in production processes. She has over 10 years of experience leading R&D projects. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
