We stayed at Akasawa Onsen Ryokan, a hot spring inn in Nasu-Shiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture, where you can interact with cats and dogs. Adorable cats welcomed us at the inn and even came to visit us in our rooms... It was a truly relaxing space for cat lovers. The hot spring water is straight from the source, so we were able to relax and refresh ourselves. We also enjoyed a private open-air bath, enjoying a luxurious time surrounded by nature. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, satisfying both our hearts and stomachs. I highly recommend this inn to anyone planning a hot spring trip in Nasu-Shiobara or looking for a place to stay where you can interact with cats. The inn's staff are multinational and very friendly and helpful. They apparently speak not only Japanese, but also English, Chinese, and Spanish.
