On June 4, 2026, the 17th Archdiocesan Day of Altar Boys and Liturgical Service was held at the Major Seminary of St. Joseph in Lviv-Brzuchowicze. Approximately 300 representatives of altar servers from parishes of the Archdiocese of Lviv attended the event. Metropolitan Archbishop Mieczysław Mokrzycki of Lviv presided over the Mass, along with Auxiliary Bishop Leon Mały and priests from the Archdiocese of Lviv who had attended the clergy gathering. The sermon was delivered by Father Serhiy Woroniuk, OFMCap. He emphasized that the first commandment God gives us is the call: "Hear, O Israel," and the most important is "Love the Lord your God and your neighbor." The preacher emphasized that true love cannot be achieved without the ability to listen to God, accept His Word, and open our hearts to Him. Only those who learn to listen to the Lord are able to respond to His love with their own lives and daily service. After the Eucharist, the sports and recreational portion of the meeting began. Participants had the opportunity to participate in a soccer tournament, which traditionally generated the most excitement and enthusiasm for sports. Those interested could also play volleyball, test their skills in other sports, and participate in team games. The atmosphere of friendly competition fostered integration among pastors from different parishes and provided an opportunity to get to know each other and relax together. Another important element of the day was informal communication between participants. The young people shared experiences of serving in their parishes, met with peers, and spent time in a joyful and fraternal atmosphere. For many, this was an opportunity not only to relax but also to strengthen their sense of belonging to the great community of the Liturgical Service of the Archdiocese of Lviv. The meeting took place in an atmosphere of joy, mutual support, and gratitude for the gift of serving at the Lord's altar. Participants felt that their daily work and involvement in the life of the Church were important and valuable. Finally, Archbishop Mieczysław Mokrzycki, Metropolitan of Lviv, presented awards to the winners of the soccer tournament and thanked all participants for their daily service in their parishes.
