Cubilillo Os Fils Via Ferrata in the Mallos de Riglos | Via Ferrata | LowCosTravellers Here we bring you a short but spectacular via ferrata in one of the most unique settings in all of Spain, the Mallos de Riglos, in the province of Huesca, practically on the border with Zaragoza. The via ferrata itself surrounds one of these mallos, a truly fantastic experience. The route begins in the village of Riglos, as parking at the observatory, which would have left us closer to the via ferrata, has been restricted. We begin with a 2.5 km trail, enjoying the spectacular scenery, with the entire mallos area to our left. After this, we enter a narrow path that leads us through lush vegetation to the foot of the via ferrata. In this first part of the via ferrata, we ascend the wall almost vertically using nails instead of steel staples, which makes it somewhat cumbersome, although not a major impediment. After this first part, we reach the upper plateau where there is a viewpoint with incredible views. Once we've enjoyed the views, we have to go to the left of the viewpoint along a small, busy path, although not very well marked. From here, we have to descend for a good stretch until we reach the other part of the via ferrata in the Mallo de Don Justo, through which the via ferrata itself passes and which we access via a tiny chain bridge, somewhat awkward, of course... After descending the Mallo, all that remains is to return to the trail we came from and retrace our steps to Riglos. A short but truly spectacular via ferrata, being a K3, it is truly one of the most accessible, perhaps only notable for its verticality in some areas, which can be impressive, but otherwise, it is not difficult.
