Waterfalls Among Basalt Columns and Europe's Largest Glacier | Iceland 10 | LowCosTravellers Here's a video of this route through Iceland. On the trail, we pass by Svatifoss waterfall, famous for being surrounded by basalt columns, and continue along the path until we reach a viewpoint where we'll see a tongue of Europe's largest glacier (by volume). As the ice of the glacial tongue melts, a lagoon forms in which pieces of ice from the glacier float. It's breathtaking. Then we'll approach another lagoon to see these pieces of ice up close.
