綴じ目鉢をつくる - 陶芸

I am a professional potter from Saga, Japan. My specialty is Karatsu style "Mishima" technique. Today, I’ll show you how I make seamed-line plates. We also call this shape Hamagurigata, which means “clam shell shape.” The clam shape has long been considered a symbol of marital harmony and other auspicious occasions in Japan. A decorative button (rivet) is added as part of the design. I hope you enjoy watching! 0:00 Intro 0:10 Spiral wedging 1:40 Throwing 5:46 Seamed line 7:12 Drying 7:41 Attach buttons 10:35 Apply Inlays 11:55 Trimming 13:53 Slipping 16:05 Glazing 19:02 Firing Website: https://www.watajima.com Instagram: / yasuhiro_watajima
