How to Build a Board Bow Part 3: Width Profile and Riser
Using only a $15 board you can make a powerful and effective bow with a few simple hand tools. In this video I rough out the bow to it's width dimensions, removing the excess wood on the sides with a draw knife and rasp. I also add a riser of yew wood to build up a comfortable handle and add an attractive accent. This is the third part of a series showing the step by step process of making a bow from a board. In this series I'll be using a hickory board to make a straight-forward flat bow pyramid design.
