Das THW im Zivilschutz: Trainieren - Handeln - Wirken

The Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) is the German federal government's operational civil protection and disaster relief organization. Around 88,000 volunteers provide technical and logistical assistance both domestically and internationally. As reliable partners of fire departments, police, and other aid organizations, they support hazard prevention and the management of accidents, crises, and disasters. Civil protection has always been one of the THW's core tasks and is firmly enshrined in its legal mandate. As the federal government's operational civil protection organization, the THW contributes to protecting the population, managing the effects of crises and conflicts, and ensuring the continued operation of critical infrastructure, even in exceptional circumstances.
