Uma Casa Leve que Abraça — Decoração com Pura Alma Brasileira e Boas Ideias Sem Gastar Muito
Visiting Maurício Arruda and Rafael Gomes' apartment in Rio de Janeiro was a bit about the lightness of the home, the feeling of bringing together a few good pieces—but with an extra layer. Because there, above all, there is time. The time of friendship, of exchanges, of stories we've already lived together… and which now also appear, in some way, in this space. This is their beach apartment. A place that doesn't need to accommodate everything—and perhaps for that very reason, manages to be so essential. Here, excess doesn't enter. Only what matters remains. The house is bright, airy, with white walls, painted wooden floors, and a base that soothes the eye. But, little by little, colors begin to appear… in the objects, in the pieces chosen with such care, in the details that carry stories. And then everything comes to life. There's a very beautiful curation—especially of Brazilian handicrafts, which is a passion of both of them. Pieces that came from travels, from encounters with artisans throughout Brazil… and also from creations made in partnership. Nothing is generic. Everything has an origin, an intention, a soul. We even talk about CRAB during the video, and it's important that you know about it. CRAB is the Sebrae Center of Reference for Brazilian Handicrafts. It's a must-visit place when you're in Rio de Janeiro. Their website is also very informative and, besides being a great reference for those who love handicrafts, it's a very important help for all artisans in Brazil to understand how to make a good living from their art. So follow @Sebrae, @CRABSebrae and the website https://crab.sebrae.com.br And their kitchen? A special place in the house. The kitchen is one of those places you don't want to leave. With antique tiles, full of charm, with that beach house feel that effortlessly welcomes you. Everything there invites you to stay. To sit, talk, cook without rushing. And perhaps that's what struck me most about this visit: the feeling that this house was designed to slow down life. We talked a lot about this in the video… about how decoration can be a real tool for well-being. About how it's possible to create a beautiful home, full of meaning, without needing excesses or large expenses — but with good choices, with sensitivity, with truth. This isn't just a well-decorated apartment. It's an invitation to live more lightly. And I'm very happy to be able to share this with you. Come see it with me.
