In this second part of the documentary dedicated to the enigmatic Tower of Centum Cellas, we continue our journey through one of Portugal's most mysterious archaeological sites, combining tradition, science and historical interpretation. We begin by delving into the legends that have been woven around the tower over the centuries: its association with Saint Cornelius (who, according to tradition, was imprisoned here), stories of miracles, treasures and prodigious constructions, which have helped to shape the symbolic identity of this place. Next, we explore the key contribution of archaeology, from the first excavations to the most recent investigations, revealing the main findings that have enabled us to understand the chronology of the site, its Roman and medieval occupation, and the material wealth that has been uncovered there. Finally, we analyse the major interpretations proposed by researchers: was Centum Cellas a Roman villa, a mansio, an administrative building, or a complex of a symbolic nature? And why does its construction technique, with granite blocks fitted together without mortar, continue to intrigue experts? Throughout the video, original visual reconstructions are presented, created from archaeological and historical data, which allow us to visualise the possibilities regarding the form and function of this unique monument.
