SKippy’s Guillow’s P‑47D Thunderbolt RC Conversion – Part 1 Vintage Kit & Oracover Plan

The weather’s been bad, I’ve had a cold… so why not start another build? This time I’ve gone back into the Guillow’s store cupboard and pulled out a kit from 1989/90 — a proper vintage P‑47D Thunderbolt. It’s not laser‑cut, the ply firewall is old‑school, and I’m expecting a few challenges along the way. After using silver tissue on the Super Cub (with no paint), I’m tempted to try something different here: covering the P‑47 in Oracover for a smoother, more metallic finish. Hopefully it won’t interfere with receiver reception, but we’ll find out together. So here we go — Part 1 of the Guillow’s P‑47D Thunderbolt RC Conversion. More building, experimenting, and problem‑solving to come. Thanks for watching, and please like and subscribe if you haven’t already!
